The market town of Hallstatt, known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and popular tourist destination, is setting new standards in municipal waste management: in close cooperation with the company Pöttinger Entsorgungstechnik, a modern press container with a capacity of 20 m³ was put into operation for the collection of residual waste.
Efficient waste compaction saves resources
The new press container enables a significant reduction in waste volume thanks to its high-performance compaction technology. This leads to fewer transport journeys and thus to noticeable savings in operating costs - while at the same time making a valuable contribution to environmental and climate protection.
Optimum solution for high visitor frequency
The large number of visitors to Hallstatt leads to a high volume of residual waste every day, especially in public areas. Until now, the public waste containers had to be emptied up to three times a day by municipal employees using a collection vehicle. Thanks to the new compactor container, collection is now much more efficient. It is now much easier to deposit the collected waste and the disposal journeys through the Salzkammergut region have been reduced enormously - a significant relief for staff and infrastructure.
With the new system, the market town of Hallstatt is not only optimising its local waste logistics, but is also sending out a clear signal for sustainable and future-orientated waste disposal solutions.
